Winter Solstice was last week, the shortest day of the year and the longest night. It is a beautiful turning point to bring attention to as from that point on, more and more light comes into our days, and we can consciously bring more of this light into our life too. We can use this as a time to reflect on the past 6-12 months and mindfully let go of those things that no longer serve us or we no longer need. These could be physical things, attitudes, people, habits… you will know what this is for you. This then leaves space for us to invite in the new, and there’s no need for moderation here… think big! Think wide! Think far! You do not need to worry about ‘not living up to expectations’ – this is an invitation, an intention, for that which you would like more of, tangible or intangible.
If we think about how the days gradually become longer and lighter, it can also be that the changes we intend or invite into our lives can be subtle and slow and hardly noticeable, but they may still require adjustments within ourselves along the way. Or sometimes changes can happen suddenly, with a bang. Either way, many blessings to you for your new beginnings, and may you be present to this journey towards more light and what it requires of you.
“Surely the True Path is to Dive Deep into Nature.” – Vincent Van Gogh
Before I left school I was asked what I wanted to do, all I could answer was “I want to make people happy”. At that time I didn’t know how but was blessed with a teacher that helped me start down a path that has seen me meet so many beautiful people from so many walks of life.
