Welcome beautiful woman,
I’m Megan and I’m honoured to have you join me here.
I’m not here to tell you everything happens for a reason.
I’m not here to tell you what you “should” be doing.
I’m not here to fix.
And I am definitely not here to judge.
Dear sister I am here to witness your story, to honour your journey and hold space for you to support you to find your new ground. I’m here to support you to live with integrity by living your truth, whatever that may be. I am here to support you to grieve, to dream, to be exactly where you are and support you, in your time to be move towards where you are hoping to be.
As I sit here to write about my journey I am challenged to know what is relevant to share now. I lived through abusive relationships and travelled the world working with people who need support to have their voices heard. I experienced debilitating illness and studied how to support our brothers and sisters in this life, how to work with earth, soul and spirit. I journeyed deep to uncover my truth and learn how to share it in the world.
And then….
On the 17th of March 2016, my world, every level of my being was shattered when my baby boy Kai Phoenix Hajny was born sleeping. That day I passed through the eye of a needle where so much of “Megan before Kai” was unable to follow. I was left falling through space with nothing to hold onto. The shock, the devastation, the confusion. Since then, day by day I found the support I needed to help me survive and learn to live again. I have learnt so much as I walk this journey and I know this will continue. This is a forever journey. I will always love Kai, I will always be his mother and I will always work to honour our love.
Through my gradual journey of healing I have uncovered piece by piece what is important to “Megan after Kai”. I have found a new fire. I have found a commitment to serve mamas who have found themselves walking this earth without their babies in their arms. I have found a commitment to work with their friends, family, their tribe of sisters who are supporting them through this heartbreak. This is how I honour the love of mother and child.
Doula is a Greek term for a woman who serves, the role of mothering the mother. With deep humility I am a doula for mothers who didn’t get to bring their babies home. I am a doula for the soul I am a doula for your hopes, dreams and intentions, I am a doula for our precious Gaia (Mother Earth) and I am a doula to our sisters who walk beside us through this deep journey.
